DORCHESTER CITY COUNCIL meets the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Dorchester City Hall. Meeting is open to the public.
HOWE ISD SCHOOL BOARD meets the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Lecture Hall at Howe High School. Meeting is open to the public.
HOWE CITY COUNCIL meets the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Meeting is open to the public.
HOWE AG BOOSTERS meet the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the high school ag. class. Scheduled meetings are Dec. 3, Jan. 7, Feb. 4, March 4, April 1, May 6.

Van Alstyne Calendar of Events
Dec. 1, Saturday - The Friends of the Van Alstyne Library Annual Craft Sale will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Van Alstyne Community Center. The Friends will have a bake sale booth. Anyone wishing to donate food may bring it to the Community Center early on Dec. 1.; Annual Van Alstyne Christmas Parade starts at the football field at 4 p.m., goes south on Waco, east on Marshall, north on Main, west on Jefferson, then north on Preston to Waco Street and will finish at the football field. Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be at 6 p.m. at Dorothy Fielder Park.; The Friends of the Van Alstyne Library Annual Tour of Homes will be held, 6-9 p.m. Meet at the Community Center at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are on sale at the library until 2 p.m. Dec. 1 and at the Craft Sale.
Dec. 4, Tuesday - Run-off election for the State Senate District 30 will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Van Alstyne Community Center. Candidates are Republican Craig Estes and Democrat Greg Underwood.
Dec. 5, Wednesday - The Van Alstyne Public Library weekly preschool children's storytime held each Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Altha McKinney.
Dec. 7, Friday - Ladies Auxiliary Fish Fry at Van Alstyne American Legion, 100 S. Main, 4:30?7:30 p.m. (held each first Friday of the month)
Dec. 9, Sunday - Van Alstyne Bands (6th-12 grade) will give a free Christmas Concert at 2 p.m. in the high school cafetorium. Everyone is welcome.
Dec. 11, Tuesday - Van Alstyne City Council, 7 p.m., Community Center.
Dec. 15, Saturday - Footlighters will present a kids' play and a one-act play at the Van Alstyne Elementary School, 7 p.m.
Dec. 17, Monday - Van Alstyne School Board, 7:30 p.m., high school library.
Dec. 20, Thursday - South Grayson Republican Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Van Alstyne. Guest speaker will be Pct. 1 County Commissioner Johnny Waldrip. The meeting will be followed by a time of fellowship with refreshments. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Jan. 7, 2002, Monday - Beginning Monday, Jan. 7, The Van Alstyne Quilters Guild will meet on the first Monday of each month at the First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne, at 7 p.m. Social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
